Working Hours - 40 hours per week (8 hours working day between the time range of 7am to 6pm)
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Infrastructure Engineer to join a forward-thinking business, based in Farringdon London.
Summary of role for the Infrastructure Engineer:
Primary contact for incoming IT support requests by telephone or through a ticketing system.
Provide second and third line IT support to personnel (approximately 280) located in the company’s expanding clinic network across the country.
Experience of working within the health industry would be a huge advantage but is not essential.
Installations and support of networking equipment, switches, servers, rack building
Assisting in the management of AZURE Active Directory, Group Policies etc.
Installations and configuration of new equipment, telephony, mobile telephony, printing, and any other elements within the scope of the department.
IT System administration and support for the hosted server environment and internal systems.
Assisting in the management of IT Service Providers and managing changes where these are required.
Implementing and supporting digital information and security including IG (Information Governance) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).
Improving and maintaining existing processes and supporting new processes for governance and security.
Travelling to other sites across the country to provide on-site support and installations where required.
Setting up and cabling of offices and clinics, including rack design and building, server and switch installation.
Setting up new PCs and workstations, telephones, printers, servers etc.
Server and Azure system administration, including telephony, user creation, user admin making appropriate use of 3rd party service providers as necessary.
Assist in the support and management of IT infrastructure and services for new clinics as the network expands.
Assist in the support and management of IT software products and services for the organisation.
Assisting the Head of IT with management of IT Security and Information Governance including NHS Information Governance (NHSIG) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Management of user network login credentials for access to applications, email and other services.
Generate standard reports and maintain them. Such as KPI reports, incident reports, issue reports, ticketing etc.
Provide highest level of customer service and support at all times.
Provide 24-7 out-of-hours support where required with other team members on rotation.
Key skills required for an Infrastructure Support Engineer:
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Server all variants including virtualised systems.
A good understanding of providing first, second and third-line IT support and support triage in a support or IT call centre environment. Ideally with an understanding of ITIL methodologies.
A good understanding of Microsoft products, Office, particularly supporting and training users
Microsoft 365, Office 2016. Access, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
Good telephone manner and able to deal with staff at all levels.
Troubleshooting and resolution of complex IT issues including software and hardware, windows, office, laptops, PCs, Servers, Switches, UPS’s and other networking equipment etc.
Very high level problem analysis and resolution skills.
Hardware maintenance, such as installation of memory, hard disc drives, power supplies etc.
Good understanding of IT networking, TCP/IP and Microsoft networking.
Good understanding of Print Queues, Print Management and general printing.
Microsoft Azure & Microsoft Server management, Active Directory, Domain Controllers, File & Print Services etc.
Management of Microsoft 365 on a Microsoft Azure Platform
Group Policy Management in Active Directory
Cabling and networking, rack building etc.
Scripting, Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, Batch Files etc. (Basic knowledge required)
University degree in computer science or other relevant IT qualification.
Relevant proven experience in IT Infrastructure, Support and Service delivery.
Willing to travel to other clinics based across the country, expenses are paid within reason.
